Chapter 8 in Invention, Innovation and U.S. Federal Laboratories, 2020, pp 93-100 from Edward Elgar Publishing

Abstract: This chapter summarizes the findings of the book. It also offers a reflection on U.S. technology policy, and it provides suggestions for future research. The policy recommendation is that R&D budgets and invention disclosures become coordinated target variables for enhancing technology transfer activities as well as ensuring the economic growth spillovers from R&D in federal laboratories.
