Abstract:
Fridays for Future in Uganda and Nigeria is a student and youth led platform that was launched in February 2019 following the call from Greta Thunberg to school strike. The call motivated us to start the strikes in Africa. We realised that this will help us increase attention when demanding urgent climate action from our leaders. From February 2019 to date, over 20,000 students added their voices to demands for urgent climate action and joint efforts to combat the climate breakdown.
