Climate change: from research to communication
Jean Jouzel
Chapter 57 in Standing up for a Sustainable World, 2020, pp 409-413 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
A specialist of past climate changes from the study of ice cores from Greenland and Antarctica, I tell how I have been involved in science communication over more than 30 years, and still have, the opportunity to communicate towards a large variety of audiences. Currently, this communication largely focuses on the urgency of combating climate warming. This communication is highly facilitated by the accessibility of IPCC reports. It has also benefited from the recognition of the research in which I have been involved as contributing to a better understanding of climate mechanisms at play in the past and relevant to our future.
