.
Chapter 5 in Concise Introduction to Global Supply Chain Management, 2024, pp 65-91 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
This chapter presents a case study of the global supply chain strategies used by three major global consumer electronics companies from the United States, Europe and Japan, respectively. Over time, they all followed similar evolutionary paths in the development of global supply chain strategies. The pros and cons of various types of sourcing strategies discussed earlier in this book are observed and implications are considered.
