The first chapter in the book introduces the reader to the topic by giving some necessary background and explaining the research project's inspiration. It presents briefly the comparative method adopted in the book, defines key concepts, and sets out the book's structure. It also explains its significance and impact for the legitimacy crisis the WTO dispute settlement system is currently facing.
