Chapter 1 in The Elgar Companion to Urban Infrastructure Governance, 2022, pp 1-14 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
This chapter serves as the introduction to our edited volume on the governance of urban infrastructure systems. This book is the first comprehensive publication of our IGLUS (Innovative Governance of Large Urban Systems) project. In this introduction, we will first explain how we came to IGLUS and secondly how we conceptualize the governance of these systems, something we have called the conceptualization that underlies IGLUS, something we have called the "IGLUS way". In the third section we will briefly summarize each chapter of the book along this underlying conceptualization.
