Limitations, and future research
.
Chapter 7 in A Guide to Islamic Asset Management, 2021, pp 175-176 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
There are two major limitations involved in this study. The first being that data with previous performance dealing with Islamic mutual funds and ETFs is limited due to lack of historic research. Another limitation is reflected in the methodology. With a lack of trail portfolios with measurable performance, a replication is implemented; however, this may be considered a weak substitute. Given the limitations, future research is encouraged, especially involving improving the methods, using a better accuracy in comparing conventional vs Islamic portfolios.
