Chapter 1 in Research Handbook on Entrepreneurial Ecosystems, 2024, pp 1-19 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
The purpose of this chapter is threefold. First, it introduces the background context of the evolution of entrepreneurial ecosystems research. Second, it outlines each of the chapter contributions under seven key themes: entrepreneurial ecosystems foundations; actors; cross-cultural contexts; academic entrepreneurship; digital entrepreneurial ecosystems and governance; sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystems; and entrepreneurial ecosystem measurement. Third, it offers some reflections on these themes and how they can be developed through further conceptual and empirical research.
