Chapter 13 in Marx: Key Concepts, 2024, pp 217-227 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
This chapter considers the notes in Marx’s Capital which invoke Lucretius and Darwin. By carefully reconstructing the theoretical context in which the Latin poet and English naturalist are mentioned, I propose an interpretation, ranging from certain to conjectural, of the Marxian strategy guiding these notes.
