Chapter 136 in Elgar Encyclopedia of Mergers and Acquisitions, 2026, pp 369-371 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
This chapter identifies the often-overlooked role of sellers in preparing for post-merger integration (PMI). It emphasises transparency, seller integration planning, mutual representation, and appointing integration ambassadors to successfully manage the complexities of PMI. Using a case example, it highlights strategies for sellers to navigate uncertainty, foster collaboration with acquirers, and mitigate challenges, ultimately contributing to synergy creation and smoother integration outcomes.
