Highly stakeholder-oriented firms tend to avoid extensive integration to preserve relational capital but benefit from improved collaboration and knowledge-sharing when integration occurs. The chapter underscores the dual role of stakeholder engagement in reducing resistance and enhancing synergy realization, highlighting its ambivalent influence across various integration processes.
