Chapter 40 in Elgar Encyclopedia of Mergers and Acquisitions, 2026, pp 105-106 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
This chapter explores the role of cultural learning in mergers and acquisitions, distinguishing surface-level and deep-level interventions. While surface learning can perpetuate stereotypes, deep-level interventions, such as cultural awareness workshops, enhance problem-solving and trust. The chapter also underscores the value of cultural knowledge sharing and integration practices to improve post-acquisition outcomes, advocating methods that focus on collaboration, introspection, and adaptive behavior for long-term success.
