Abstract:
This chapter explores the contributions of scholars within the Austrian tradition to the literature on militarization and militarism. It explores the various definitions of militarism and the difficulties in studying the concept as well as historical treatments of these ideas. The chapter provides a comprehensive discussion of Austrian contributions, focusing on key themes from the tradition and their applications. It concludes with a discussion of possible avenues for continued research and open questions.
