Local environmental governance

Daniele Brombal

Chapter 14 in Handbook on Local Governance in China, 2023, pp 244-259 from Edward Elgar Publishing

Abstract: This chapter provides an overview of recent trends of evolution of China's environmental governance at the local level. It shows how the recentralisation logic often highlighted in literature has coexisted with the emergence of new local EG structures, integrating jurisdictional and sectorial functions.
