The jigsaw reading

Victor Matheson

Chapter 10 in Teaching Sports Economics and Using Sports to Teach Economics, 2022, pp 181-187 from Edward Elgar Publishing

Abstract: Journal articles provide an excellent source of material for students to use both to learn economic principles and to develop critical reading skills. The "Jigsaw Reading" is an active learning activity that can be adopted in any classroom as a method to expose students to journal articles. The Jigsaw Reading combines several important aspects of learning, including reading comprehension, writing, oral presentation, and small-group work, into a single in-class assignment.
