Measuring productivity in Major League Baseball

Abstract: This chapter describes two computational activities that are designed to have students estimate the marginal revenue product of Major League Baseball players. In the first activity, students use team statistics to estimate Runs Created by various batter outcomes. In the second activity, the students use the regression estimates created in the first activity to estimate the run production of individual players.
