Chapter 9 in Developments in Entrepreneurial Finance and Technology, 2022, pp 146-181 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
Digital crowdfunding has emerged in the recent decade as a vital alternative financing source. Of the different types of crowdfunding, reward-based crowdfunding is the most versatile and appealing to entrepreneurs. Despite its popularity, reward-based crowdfunding is not very well understood. This is the first systematic literature review devoted solely to understanding rewardbased crowdfunding. It covers the largest number of articles, the longest period of time, and the most industries and academic disciplines. This literature review helps entrepreneurs, organizations, and policymakers gain insights to increase entrepreneurs’ fundraising success and yield new policies to help venture financing.
