Chapter 1 in Handbook of Cultural Intelligence Research, 2023, pp 2-11 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
The construct of cultural intelligence (CQ) has gained a significant following in the management and cross-cultural literatures during the past several decades. Our introduction to this volume offers our personal and academic reflections on CQ’s evolution. After discussing the genesis of the concept, we contrast research on CQ with related work on global mindset and global identity. We conclude with a speculative discussion of how biochemical research on epigenetics might suggest promising and provocative pathways for future research on CQ and culture in general.
