Abstract:
While many of our daily practices have become intertwined with media and communication technologies, data privacy concerns are on the rise. Privacy is an essentially contested concept, contingent on context and perspective, which poses pragmatic problems in protecting it. Addressing privacy concerns through trustworthy data privacy governance in organisations will therefore require an inclusive approach. We introduce a practical approach to data privacy governance that includes the perspectives of those whose data are processed.
