Chapter 10 in Organization in the Economic Firm, 2021, pp 124-140 from Edward Elgar Publishing

Abstract: Chapter 10 demonstrates that the optimal level in the firm's pyramidal authority structure for any decision-making committee is biased away from the level on which the probability of correctness is highest and in a downward direction toward the shop floor.
