Abstract:
Chapter 2 introduces, defines, and illustrates the basic concepts of, and relating to authority or supervisory relations (i.e., a person of higher authority supervises one of lower authority) such as pyramidal authority structures, and rank, level, span of control, vertical balance, regularity, and perfection in the latter structures. Nonpyramidal authority structures are briefly noted.
