Chapter 9 in Public Policy in Contentious Times, 2021, pp 138-146 from Edward Elgar Publishing

Abstract: In this, the final, chapter, we present the list of policies that could be accepted by residents in our six silos - urban and rural, city and town and Blue and Red states. Specifically, we have identified 40 of these generally accepted policy initiatives. We then reviewed the policy initiatives, actual and probable, of President Biden, in the American Rescue Plan Act, the American Jobs Plan and the American Family Plan. When we compared the two we found that of the 40 generally accepted initiatives, the Biden plans overlapped with 22 proposals. This suggests that there is wide-spread acceptance among the population for the three Biden initiatives. There is considerable agreement among dwellers of the various silos that have thus far proven to be so contentious.
