Chapter 10 in The Elgar Companion to Information Economics, 2024, pp 185-201 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
We review the theoretical literature on disclosure of conflicts of interest in expert-decision maker relationships. We also discuss related empirical (experimental included) research. Based on the theoretical analysis and empirical evidence, we derive some preliminary lessons for policy. We discuss some open questions and suggest future theoretical and empirical investigations.
