Chapter 9 in Small Firms and U.S. Technology Policy, 2023, pp 78-87 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
This chapter focuses on two dimensions of the knowledge that is produced from the Phase II research process: Patents that are related to the underlying technology that resulted from, or is resulting from the Phase II research, and related scientific publications. An epistemological context is offered about the sources of knowledge. The relationship between the elements of productive capital and these two knowledge outputs is presented, by SBIR funding agencies.
