 Conversation with Nakiye Boyacigiller. Chapter 4 in Key Questions and Inspiring Answers in Cross-Cultural Management, 2024, pp 112-123 from Edward Elgar Publishing Abstract: This chapter features an interview with Nakiye Boyacigiller, a woman pioneer in the field of cross-cultural management (CCM) research. It delves into Nakiye Boyacigiller’s biography, her motivations and aspirations for conducting CCM research, her career as well as her outlook on the future of CCM research. It also sheds light on Nakiye Boyacigiller’s most important academic contributions to the field of CCM, which are her review of the culture construct, her critique of the U.S.-American predominance on theories as well as the conceptualization of global mindset and the broadening of the field of CCM to include different levels of analysis. Through this exploration, a deeper understanding of the biographies, key concepts, and revolutionary paths of the women pioneers of CCM is fostered, and important interrelationships and implications of biography and research are revealed. Both researchers and practitioners will find it informative. The interview style of the chapter allows the pioneers to express their ideas in their own voice.
