Abstract:
This final chapter summarises many of the issues that have been raised throughout the book and in particular focuses on the future for globalisation, policy and shipping. This includes discussion of the role of governance in shipping policy-making and the various and diverse ways it influences the polices adopted, their implementation and effectiveness. The significance of social media and that of social responsibility is emphasised along with the importance of the rise of populism and its impact upon shipping policy-making.
