Characteristics of the national parks

.

Chapter 3 in Public Sector Entrepreneurship, 2022, pp 30-39 from Edward Elgar Publishing

Abstract: Characteristics of the 63 national parks are presented in tabular form and discussed in this chapter. It is documented that the establishment of national parks by year did not occur evenly since the first park was established in 1872 - Yellowstone National Park. And, the varying sizes of the national parks (in terms of acreage) is documented as is the 2019 (the most recent complete calendar year since the onset of Covid-19) number of recreation visits to each park.
