Abstract:
This chapter starts with a brief history of design, provides an overview of the different areas of IP law as well as their historical background, and outlines the history and development of the Hague Agreement and its geographical scope. It furthermore briefly addresses the adoption and nature of the Locarno Classification and the development of the Design Law Treaty.
