Abstract:
Court animal advocate programs [CAAPs] are initiatives that allow courts to appoint legal advocates for animal victims in animal cruelty cases. Advocates can assist with the needs of animals and can encourage courts to recognize, consider, and protect animals as victims in animal cruelty cases.
