Gill Harvey
Chapter 2 in Research Handbook of Academic Mental Health, 2024, pp 48-63 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
This chapter considers the impact of completing a psychotherapy doctorate as an older person during a global pandemic. It first outlines the background context and story, defines mental health, and provides statistics about the wellbeing of PhD and doctoral students. The latter part of the chapter reflects on the factors that benefited as well as challenged my mental health during the doctoral journey.
