Financialization and income inequality: a post-Keynesian institutionalist analysis
Co-authored by David A. Zalewski
Chapter 25 in Reforming Capitalism for the Common Good, 2022, pp 336-359 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
This chapter analyzes the link between financialization - a key feature of money manager capitalism - and increasing income inequality across a number of developed nations. It also demonstrates that the development of modern financial structures does not preclude the existence of egalitarian public policies aimed at reducing inequality.
