Post-Keynesian institutionalism and the failure of neoliberalism
.
Chapter 26 in Reforming Capitalism for the Common Good, 2022, pp 360-370 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
This chapter describes the various dimensions of US economic insecurity that have persisted (and in many cases worsened) for more than a generation, and explains how post-Keynesian institutionalism accounts for that insecurity as a consequence of the neoliberal pursuit of financialization. The chapter identifies several policy recommendations offered by post-Keynesian institutionalists, and stresses that the COVID-19 pandemic underscores the need for such policies.
