Abstract: This chapter engages with the concept of popular sovereignty, tracing its evolution from a notion once linked to monarchs to one associated with the people, and explores its complexity and multiple interpretations. Oklopcic discusses the various incarnations of “the people” in the context of sovereignty, as well as constitutional theory's ambivalence toward the concept.
