Chapter 1 in The Elgar Companion to Corporate Social Responsibility and the Sustainable Development Goals, 2023, pp 1-8 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
The section briefly introduces why it is important for this book to be published in the context of the pandemic crisis that is imperilling progress towards achieving the SDGs, and calling on all sectors of society to mobilize for a decade of action to achieve SDGs. The Introduction describes the structure and themes of the book: evaluation of CSR, sustainable development and implications for SDGs through multiple lenses; stakeholders’ partnership and public awareness; ecosystem innovation; responsible and sustainable education; social protection such as decent work, work safety; responsible and sustainable business at corporation level; and SDGs in action at national level.
