It is essential to choose a programme aligned with your interests and with acknowledged strengths in your field, and timely completion of the doctorate is crucial. Part-time study poses challenges, and maintaining a work-life balance is complex, especially for women considering childbearing. Different doctoral program models have their own challenges, such as transitioning from coursework to the dissertation phase or dealing with isolation. Selecting the right institution, aligning research interests, timely completion, and finding a balance are key factors in pursuing a successful HASS doctorate.
