Chapter 8 in Work-life Balance, Employee Health and Wellbeing, 2024, pp 180-202 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
This chapter presents a research model that integrates the emerging understanding of Flex-Place Arrangements with the continuing research interest in Work-Family Conflict and its impact on Employee Productivity. The chapter explores the empirically established relationships between Work-Family demands, Work-Family Conflict, and Employee Productivity considering new ways of working. We focus on employment practices of Work-from-Home (WFH) and Work-from-Anywhere and evaluate the impact of ‘hybrid’ and ‘multi-locality’ on employee behaviour. The social support structures to mitigate the relationship between work-family demands and employee outcomes are also explored in this chapter.
