Abstract: As part of the harmonisation process in the field of resolution initiated by Directive no 59/2014, establishing a framework for the recovery and resolution of credit institutions and investment firms (the BRRD), Regulation (EU) no 806/2014 (the SRM Regulation) sets up a centralised resolution mechanism for banks and certain investment firms along with a single resolution fund within the EU (SRM).
