Abstract:
Regulation (EU) No 1095/2010 of 24 November 2010 established the European Securities and Markets Authority (the ESMA), one of the three European Supervisory Authorities (the ESAs) of the European System of Financial Stability (the ESFS). The ESMA’s main objective is to protect the public interest by contributing to the short, medium and long-term stability and effectiveness of the financial system, for the Union economy, its citizens and its businesses.
