Searching for the magic formula of lean leadership
Marte D. Q. Holmemo
Chapter 11 in A Research Agenda for Lean Management, 2024, pp 183-195 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
In this chapter the concepts of leadership and lean leadership are reviewed and scrutinized. The author present some of the challenges we face in trying to define a concept of lean leadership. In the final part of the chapter, the author proposes three suggestions to improve future research: (a) finding characteristics of leadership that work in a lean management context, (b) narrowing the scope of our research to focus on more precise concepts, and (c) emphasizing the processual logic of lean leadership.
