Building lean capabilities through action learning
Henrik Saabye
Chapter 4 in A Research Agenda for Lean Management, 2024, pp 53-71 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
The chapter revolves around the theory of learning by building a conceptual integration between lean and action learning. This integration provides an original methodological approach that can help scholars produce actionable knowledge that is equally relevant both for theory and practice. It is suggested that action learning as a theory and practice provides a lens to understand and develop the hitozukuri (making people) and kotozukuri (making things happen) dimensions when building lean capabilities that foster monozukuri (making things).
