Abstract:
This chapter delves into the multi-dimensional aspects – economic, social, and environmental – of the energy transition, emphasising the need for reevaluating energy strategies. It underscores the urgency to reduce global dependency on fossil fuels, advocating for strategic economic adjustments and increased community engagement via renewable energy cooperatives. The chapter concludes by stressing the importance of a balanced energy transition strategy, one that successfully disconnects economic growth from carbon emissions and fosters collaborative efforts for sustainability.
