Abstract:
Many countries have made bold commitments to adopt the sustainable development goals and make a paradigm shift towards net zero in various sectors. The research discusses the essence of a net zero transition and focusses mainly on the health services. The value chain of the health services is introduced. The carbon footprint in the value chain of the health services is then elaborated. Sustainable models and the nexus between the models are discussed. Opportunities for decarbonisation of the health care services are presented. Their implementation strategies are discussed as well as some relevant financing mechanisms. To ensure long-term sustainability, monitoring strategies and community engagement activities are presented.
