From the horses’ mouths: editor ratings of ethical violations in author submissions to top I-O psychology journals

Logan L. Watts and Joel Lefkowitz

Chapter 21 in How to Conduct and Publish High-Quality Research in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, 2025, pp 330-347 from Edward Elgar Publishing

Abstract: Abstract : Most advice offered to graduate students and young professionals regarding the submission of research manuscripts for publication consists of technical (i.e., scientific or methodological) matters. Less frequently are ethical issues discussed. This chapter considers the (un)ethical or “questionable” practices that jeopardize manuscript acceptance, based on the experiences and opinions of 45 associate and senior editors of the top peer-reviewed journals in I-O psychology.
