Continuity, change, and wellbeing in urban neighborhoods

.

Chapter 9 in Rethinking Neighborhoods, 2024, pp 166-188 from Edward Elgar Publishing

Abstract: I examine five areas of discussion that relate directly to how neighborhoods can play a role in the city. I discuss the interest in the 15-minute community, how neighborhoods might enhance individual wellbeing, the potential for changes in work residence relationships, the importance of equality, social mixing and what has been called the Just city. I conclude the chapter with some modest speculations on neighborhoods and the future.
