Postscript: some reflections on future directions

Abstract: This brief postscript offers a highly personal view of the current and very challenging global situation and its relevance for social protection and development. Although the book is optimistic and reflects a deep belief in progress, current conditions challenge the progressive interpretation. Nevertheless, the postscript suggests that an organized response is possible and that current challenges can be met.
