Abstract: This paper examines the Social Impact Categories, an instrument used to evaluate the social impacts of various projects, policies, and organisations. Impact categories, which cover areas like health, equity, economic stability, and cultural integrity, offer a way to evaluate the way in which development impacts different areas in society. Through Social Life Cycle Assessment (S-LCA), it helps to group stakeholders, like workers, local communities, consumers, and children together based on the social issues that concern each of them. The approach is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and also supports sustainable and social practices. Throughout the course of time, social impact assessment (SIA) has been expanded to include ethics, cultural preservation, and extended stakeholder participation. In spite of ongoing challenges like subjective interpretation and gaps in the data, new technologies and global partnerships are further advancing social impact assessment, thus opening the path to a more equal, inclusive, and sustainable future.
