Abstract: According to Kline (1985), “uncertainty can bedefined as a possible value that the error could assume in a given measurement, thus it is not a fixed number but a statistical variable being represented by various values over a range.” The term “uncertainty” appears in theoretical literature across multiple disciplines and is broadly used to describe various concepts. When focusing on a specific scientific field, its meaning, details, and implications can be explored more thoroughly. In the context of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), uncertainty is a critical issue that must be addressed to ensure reproducible and accurate results. During an LCA study, uncertainty can manifest in several ways, including: the methodological phases where it arises, the magnitude of uncertainty, its sources, the different types involved, andstrategies for managing it effectively.
