Chapter 16 in Elgar Encyclopedia of Energy Economics, 2025, pp 60-63 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
We present a tractable model of a common pool resource, identifying equilibrium appropriation in each period and evaluating static and dynamic inefficiencies. We then provide a list of environmental policies that help ameliorate the inefficiencies in resource exploitation, along with literature extensions, and how they emphasize or mitigate inefficiencies.
