Federal laboratory technology transfer mechanisms and metrics
.
Chapter 5 in Public Sector Technology Transfer, 2024, pp 71-97 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
Chapter 5 presents a descriptive analysis of federal laboratory technology transfer mechanisms and metrics for each of the 11 major federal agencies, and an analytical analysis of that relationship for DOD, DOE, and NASA. From a descriptive perspective, one cannot generalize about the relationship between the Great Recession and trends in technology transfer activity from federal laboratories in general. However, from a statistical point of view, new empirical evidence is presented on the relationship between appropriately denominated new invention disclosures and patent applications.
