Abstract: This chapter provides an introduction and overview of the book entitled Protecting Nature with Buddha’s Wisdom. This is an era of environmental and nature protection in human history. The citizens of the planet are severely divided regarding how they should deal with major environmental and nature issues such as species extinction, environmental pollution, using nature’s finite resources, and global climate change. This book offers a novel interpretation of these contemporary challenges of humanity relying on the old wisdom of the Buddha referred to as the perfection of wisdom and points to a new direction.
